JOB CLASSIFICATION SUMMARY

Positions assigned to this class are responsible for performing duties in evaluating and implementing the Town's water conservation program activities and functions.

DISTINGUISHING CHARACTERISTICS

This is the specialist level management support classification in the management support and analysis job family. Work requires considerable and broad knowledge within a particular function. Work involves planning and coordinating assignments/projects. As a specialist, possesses a high level of skill and knowledgeable within a function. Schedule may include attending night and weekend events.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES
The following are intended to describe core work functions of this classification. While the level and broad nature of essential duties may not change, specific work tasks will vary over time depending on the Town's needs.


  • Review and contact customers who have high water use and or possible leaks. Walk through/offer assistance with leak detection process.
  • Assist customers with water conservation practices
  • Reviews reports of water meters that reflect abnormal use to determine reason and provide resolution.
  • Implements and monitors applicable projects; develops outreach programs to encourage participation.
  • Develops and reviews water conservation messaging and website improvements.
  • Analyzes data and prepares statistics for applicable reports which includes annual compliance reports for the State of Arizona.
  • Develops and reviews educational programs and curriculum; coordinates, schedules and attends water conservation workshops.
  • Conducts water audits ranging from simple to complex for residences, homeowner associations, and large businesses.
  • Represents the department at a variety of meetings.
  • Prepares and disseminates a variety of correspondence for a wide range of stakeholders.
  • Performs related work as assigned.

Typical Qualifications

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS (at job entry)

Education and Experience:

Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university in Water Conservation/Sustainability, Environmental Sciences, Education, Public or Business Administration, Communication, or a related field and 3 years of water conservation related experience; or an equivalent combination of directly related education and experience.

LICENSING/CERTIFICATION REQUIREMENTS

  • Arizona Driver's License
